I have No Man!

grenepages_Tosin Babalola THE PREVAILING WORD_I Have No ManThe story of the man at the pool of Bethesda is a very familiar story. It is popular for the slackness of the in-firmed man who instead of saying ‘yes’ to Jesus’ question began to beat around the bush. Many claimed he was focusing on his weakness, posing them as an excuse and they drive home a lesson from there, this is fine.
Another view of the story shows something more. The man had no help and he needed to first admit same. Notice the Bible records that Jesus saw him and knew how long he had been there. Jesus knew exactly what the man needed and how desperate he was. Between the time Jesus saw him and his healing was his acknowledgement of his helpless state. This is my port of call.
“I have no man”, the in-firmed man said. At that point, he was facing the reality that even if the strength of man could cut it, he had no one. For Jesus, that alone probably translated to mean ‘YES! I will be made whole’, because He is the One who sees our hearts and hears our thoughts even before we speak.
To access our miracles as well as breakthroughs for others around us, we must realize that the secret of our strength comes from us being empty of our own self-effort. We will then realize that there are no boundaries, barriers, or limitations for us because Jesus knows no boundaries, barriers, or limitations.
The I-have-no-man zone is the safest zone for any believer to dwell. It will enable us to fix our gaze on God soon enough;
after all ...vain is the help of man but through God we shall do valiantly
after all ...we are instructed to put not our trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help
after all ...both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together
after all ...it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man
after all ...men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity
And above all ...every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah
Jesus is our ever present help in the time of trouble. The one who has numbered all the hair on our head is always mindful of our deepest desires. But He needs us to acknowledge that we have no power of our own; to have the humility of a child-like heart and understand that true strength does not originate with us but with Christ who lives in us.
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and that strength is made perfect in our weakness. Without Him, we can do no-thing.
So let some trust in Chariots and leave others to trust in Horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. He knows about all our struggles and he hears us even before we speak. Such unspeakable Love!
